2. Who Can Use the App and ChildrenYou must be at least 18 years old to use Lexa. During onboarding, we ask you to confirm that you are at least 18 and the available age ranges begin at 18.The Services are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If we become aware that a person under 18 has provided personal data to us, we will take appropriate steps to restrict access and delete the information where required.If you believe that someone under 18 has provided personal data to us, please contact us.

What Personal Data We CollectWe collect personal data that you provide directly, personal data generated through your use of the Services, and limited information from third-party sign-in, analytics, subscription, and platform providers.A. Account and sign-in informationWhen you create or use an account, we may collect:- your name- your email address- your user ID and authentication-related account information- sign-in information returned to us through Sign in with Apple, Google Sign-In, or email/password sign-inWhere you sign in using Apple or Google, we use the information returned by those services to authenticate and maintain your account. Learning and account-linked activity dataWe collect and store information needed to operate and personalise your learning experience, including saved or favourited words, streaks and activity days, collections used, progress, review history, mastery level, and records of learning cards or prompts you have viewed, learned, reviewed, or interacted with.D. Notifications and remindersIf you enable notifications, the app requests permission to send alerts, sounds, and badges. We use your notification and schedule preferences to provide learning reminders. If you have an eligible free trial and relevant reminders are enabled, we may also use the trial-expiry date supplied by RevenueCat to schedule a local reminder before the trial ends.Notifications are scheduled and delivered through your device. You can change notification permissions through your device settings and reminder preferences within the app.E. Widgets and local device dataThe app stores limited learning data and preferences locally on your device to operate the Services. If you use widgets, limited information required to configure and display them is stored in shared App Group storage so that the app and widget can work together.F. Product analytics and app usage dataWe use PostHog product analytics to understand how people use the Services and improve Lexa. PostHog may process a device or installation identifier, your Lexa user ID after sign-in, app version and build, device and operating-system information, authentication state, approximate location derived from your IP address, and events describing app lifecycle, feature usage, product interactions, and learning interactions.Approximate location is used only for analytics. Lexa does not request or collect precise GPS location.Analytics events may relate to onboarding, learning actions, Smart Recall, reminders, widgets, customisation, theme changes, collection navigation, sharing actions, subscription state, and account state. We do not intentionally send names, email addresses, or the text of words, definitions, or examples in analytics events, and we apply event sanitisation before events are sent.PostHog automatic screen-view tracking, automatic UI-element interaction capture, and session replay are disabled. We do not use PostHog information for advertising or cross-app tracking.We and our service providers may also process limited technical diagnostic data, such as app or SDK errors and service-performance information, in a form that is not linked to your Lexa account, to analyse reliability and resolve technical problems.G. Support and feedbackIf you contact us or send feedback, we may collect the content of your message, your email address, and any information you choose to include.H. Subscription and purchase-related informationWe use RevenueCat to manage Lexa Premium subscriptions and entitlement access. We may process your Lexa user ID, a RevenueCat identifier, subscription product, subscription and entitlement status, purchase or restore status, trial status and expiry date, and transaction information needed to provide and analyse subscription access.Payments are processed by Apple through Apple's in-app purchase system. We do not receive your payment-card details.

5. How We Use Your Personal DataWe use your personal data to provide, operate, protect, and improve the Services. In particular, we may use your personal data to:- create, authenticate, and manage your account- allow you to sign in through Apple, Google, or email/password sign-in- store and synchronise your learning profile, progress, and review state- maintain saved words, favourites, streaks, collections used, and other account-linked learning records- personalise your learning experience based on your onboarding choices and activity- provide and manage Lexa Premium subscription access, trials, and purchase restoration- understand how users interact with onboarding, learning flows, reminders, widgets, customisation, collections, and subscription features- analyse product usage, approximate geographic usage, app quality, and feature performance so we can improve the Services- provide widgets and send notifications if you enable them- respond to feedback, questions, and support requests- maintain the security, integrity, performance, and reliability of the Services- investigate misuse, fraud, or other harmful or unlawful activity- comply with legal and regulatory obligations- establish, exercise, or defend legal claimsWe do not use your personal data for marketing emails, targeted advertising, or advertising attribution.
6. Legal Bases for ProcessingWhere the UK GDPR or similar laws apply, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases:- Performance of a contract: where processing is necessary to create and operate your account, provide and personalise learning features, maintain your progress, deliver widgets and reminders you request, and provide Lexa Premium subscription access.- Legitimate interests: where processing is reasonably necessary to operate, secure, understand, and improve the Services, analyse product usage and approximate geographic usage, respond to support issues, prevent misuse, maintain account integrity, and improve reliability and quality, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights and freedoms.- Consent: where required, for example when you enable device notifications or a particular optional permission. You can withdraw consent where applicable, although this will not affect processing already carried out lawfully.- Legal obligation: where processing is necessary to comply with legal obligations, regulatory requirements, lawful requests, or recordkeeping duties.
7. Sharing Data and Third-Party ServicesWe do not sell your personal data.We may share personal data only where reasonably necessary to operate the Services, comply with law, or protect our rights. This may include sharing with:- Firebase Authentication, provided through Firebase/Google, for account authentication- Cloud Firestore, provided through Firebase/Google, for account, onboarding, and learning-state storage- Google Sign-In, if you choose to sign in with Google- Sign in with Apple, if you choose to sign in with Apple- Apple, for App Store distribution, in-app purchases, subscription billing, and Apple platform services- PostHog, for product analytics and app improvement- RevenueCat, for subscription, trial, purchase, entitlement, and restore managementThese providers may process personal data on our behalf or as independent controllers where they determine their own processing, depending on the service involved. Where a provider processes personal data on our behalf, we require it to protect personal data consistently with this Privacy Policy and applicable law through appropriate contractual and security protections.We may also disclose personal data where reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, regulation, court order, or lawful request; investigate fraud, abuse, security incidents, or unlawful activity; protect rights, property, or safety; enforce our terms or legal rights; or complete a merger, acquisition, financing, asset sale, reorganisation, or similar business transaction, subject to applicable law.
8. Data Storage Location and International TransfersAccount, onboarding, and learning-progress data stored in Cloud Firestore is currently hosted in London, United Kingdom, using Google Cloud's europe-west2 region.Product analytics is configured to use PostHog Cloud EU, whose core cloud storage for EU Cloud is currently located in Germany. RevenueCat and some other providers or subprocessors may process relevant information in the United States or other countries.This does not mean that all service-related information is stored only in London or the European Union. Providers and their subprocessors may process information in other countries according to their infrastructure and contractual terms.Where personal data is transferred outside the United Kingdom, we rely, as applicable, on UK adequacy regulations or appropriate contractual safeguards, including the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. You may contact us for further information or a copy of the relevant safeguards.
9. Retention, Account Deletion, and SecurityWe retain account, onboarding, and learning data while your account remains active and for only as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services and fulfil the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. Analytics, support, security, and transaction-related information is retained for only as long as reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose, taking account of provider settings, legal obligations, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, and financial recordkeeping requirements.You can delete your account from within the app. When you do so, active Lexa account, profile, learning, and local app data is deleted promptly. Associated personal data held through PostHog or RevenueCat that requires manual provider action will normally be deleted or anonymised within 30 days. We retain only the limited deletion-request information needed to complete and evidence that process, and remove or minimise it when it is no longer required.Deleting your Lexa account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Apple may continue billing until you cancel the subscription through your Apple subscription settings.Some information may remain temporarily in provider backups or secure archives until it is overwritten under normal retention cycles. Apple, RevenueCat, or other providers may also retain subscription or transaction records where required for billing, tax, accounting, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or financial reporting. We limit any further use of retained personal data to the applicable purpose.We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. However, no system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and using the Services securely.
10. External LinksThe app may link to external pages or platform services. External websites and platforms may have their own privacy practices, and we are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.
11. Your Rights and How to Contact UsDepending on where you live and the laws that apply, you may have rights to:- request access to the personal data we hold about you- request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data- request deletion of your personal data- request restriction of processing in certain circumstances- object to processing based on legitimate interests in certain circumstances- request portability of certain personal data where applicable- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent- complain to a supervisory authority, including the UK Information Commissioner's Office where applicableYou may delete your account from within the app. If you want to exercise another privacy right or make a privacy-related request, contact us at [email protected]. 1. Agreement to These TermsThese Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Lexa: Daily Vocab mobile application and related services provided through the app (together, the "Services").The Services are provided by Wong Labs Ltd ("we", "us", or "our").By creating an account, accessing, or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Services.Because we do not provide a custom App Store end-user licence, Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to your licence to use the iOS app. These Terms additionally govern the Services provided by Wong Labs Ltd.
2. About the ServicesLexa: Daily Vocab is a mobile application designed to help users learn vocabulary through structured language-learning content, review features, progress tracking, reminders, widgets, and premium features.We may update, improve, modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time, subject to applicable law.
3. Eligibility and AccountsYou must be at least 18 years old to use the Services. During onboarding, you must confirm that you are at least 18. If you are under 18, you must not create an account or use the Services.To use the Services, you must create and maintain an account. We may offer sign-in through Sign in with Apple, Google Sign-In, and email/password sign-in. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information, keep your login credentials secure and confidential, promptly update your information if it changes, and accept responsibility for activity that occurs under your account.You must not impersonate another person, create an account using false information, or access another user's account without permission.Full access to Lexa's learning features and benefits requires an active Lexa Premium subscription. If your subscription expires or is cancelled, access to subscription features may end unless and until an eligible subscription is restored or purchased.You may delete your account from within the app. Account deletion results in loss of access to account-linked data and features, subject to the limited retention described in our Privacy Policy. Deleting your Lexa account does not cancel your Apple subscription.
4. Lexa Premium, Billing, Trials, and Restore PurchasesLexa Premium is provided through one or more auto-renewable subscription products made available through Apple's in-app purchase system. Available products, billing periods, prices, and offers may vary by user, territory, eligibility, or time and may change as we test or update our offerings. The specific duration, price, renewal terms, and benefits displayed to you in the RevenueCat paywall and Apple's purchase confirmation at the time of purchase will apply.All subscription purchases made in the iOS app are processed by Apple, not by us directly. Your subscription renews automatically for the period and price displayed at purchase unless you cancel it through Apple at least 24 hours before the end of the current subscription or trial period, or within any different period stated by Apple.We may offer a free trial, introductory price, promotion, or no introductory offer at all. Availability, eligibility, duration, and the price charged after an offer ends will be displayed before you confirm the purchase. Unless you cancel within the time stated by Apple, an eligible free trial or introductory offer will convert automatically into the paid auto-renewable subscription shown at purchase.If you enable relevant notifications and RevenueCat supplies a valid trial-expiry date, Lexa may send a courtesy reminder before an eligible free trial ends. You remain responsible for managing or cancelling your subscription through Apple even if a reminder is not received.You may manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple account subscription settings. Deleting the app or your Lexa account does not automatically cancel your subscription, and billing may continue until you cancel it through Apple.We may change available subscription products, prices, or offers subject to applicable law and Apple's platform rules. Any applicable notice, consent, or treatment of an existing subscription will be handled through Apple as required.Refunds, billing disputes, and related payment matters for purchases made through Apple's in-app purchase system are generally handled by Apple under Apple's applicable terms and policies.If you previously purchased an eligible subscription through the App Store, you may use Restore Purchases where available to reconnect that purchase to the Services. Restoring purchases does not create a new subscription or extend an existing subscription period.Lexa Premium does not support Family Sharing. Sharing an individual learning card does not share or transfer your account, subscription, or entitlement.
5. Privacy, Analytics, and CommunicationsYour use of the Services is also subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, store, and share personal data, including account information, learning and product interactions, analytics, approximate IP-derived location, purchase information, and notification preferences. By using the Services, you acknowledge that we process personal data as described in the Privacy Policy.We use analytics and usage information to operate, secure, maintain, understand, and improve the Services. Further details, including our use of PostHog and RevenueCat, are set out in the Privacy Policy.The Services may allow you to enable notifications, including learning prompts, reminders, and an eligible trial-ending reminder. You can manage notification preferences through your device settings and, where available, within the app.We may also send service-related communications reasonably necessary to operate your account, provide support, complete transactions, or comply with legal obligations.
6. Acceptable Use, Intellectual Property, Sharing, and FeedbackYou agree not to use the Services for any unlawful, fraudulent, or unauthorised purpose; copy, scrape, reproduce, distribute, sell, lease, reverse engineer, decompile, or exploit the Services except as permitted by law; interfere with or disrupt the security, integrity, or operation of the Services; attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts, systems, or data; use bots, scripts, or automated means to access or interact with the Services; misuse support channels or submit false or misleading reports; or use the Services in a way that infringes our rights or the rights of others.The Services, including the app, software, design, Lexa name and branding, text, graphics, vocabulary content, lesson structures, examples, databases, and other materials made available through the Services, are owned by us or licensed to us and are protected by intellectual property laws.Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Services for your personal, non-commercial use only. You do not acquire any ownership rights in the Services or any part of them.You may use the app's sharing functionality to share individual learning cards with friends or family for personal, non-commercial purposes. You must not sell them, reproduce or distribute them in bulk, remove or alter Lexa branding, or suggest that we endorse you or your use. All intellectual-property and branding rights remain with us or our licensors.The Services do not currently allow users to upload or publish public content. If you send us suggestions, ideas, feedback, feature requests, bug reports, or similar communications relating to the Services ("Feedback"), you agree that we may use that Feedback without restriction and without any obligation to compensate you.
7. Availability, Educational Content, and TerminationThe Services are provided solely for general educational and informational purposes. Lexa is a learning aid and is not a school, tutor, examination body, accredited course, or substitute for formal education or professional advice. We do not guarantee any particular learning outcome, examination result, qualification, or level of proficiency.Although we aim to provide useful and high-quality language-learning content, we do not guarantee that all content will always be complete, accurate, current, or suitable for every learner, context, dialect, or use case. Your learning outcomes depend on factors outside our control.We do not guarantee that the Services will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. We may perform maintenance, release updates, fix issues, add or remove features, or suspend parts of the Services. We are not liable for loss arising from downtime, interruptions, delays, or changes to the Services, except as required by applicable law.We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access if we reasonably believe that you have breached these Terms, are using the Services unlawfully or fraudulently, your use creates risk, harm, or legal exposure for us or others, or action is necessary to protect the Services or comply with law.You may stop using the Services at any time. Termination of these Terms does not affect rights or obligations that by their nature should continue after termination.
8. Disclaimers and Limitation of LiabilityTo the fullest extent permitted by law, the Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee that the Services will meet your exact requirements or expectations, be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, that content will always be accurate, complete, or available, or that defects will always be corrected immediately.
